Howdy All-

I picked up a pile of used hive stuff yesterday- got a heck of a deal on some old but never-seen-a-bee hive bodies and supers. One of the boxes of junk included an Alexander feeder:

I know it's an Alexander feeder cause it says so right on it and the date 1910, manufactured by the A.I. Root Company.

I stared at it for quite a while this morning over my coffee, trying to figure out how it was used and what was used in it, and both marveling at it's construction and trying (unsuccessfully) to grasp it's utility... I've not seen it mentioned in Root's ABC-XYZ book. Anyways, it's interesting, it's an antique, and I'd love to sell it for enough to retire on, or at least, buy a new truck.

Anyone know anything about this unit?

George-
