Someone asked me who carries the best quality wood frames and I have mostly plastic frames so I didn't know the answer.

Who carries the best quality wood frame?

Kelly's seemed to be one of the cheapest but I don't know if they are the best quality.

Thanks in advance.

I've had frames from Brushy Mt, Dadant, Western Bee Supply, Mann Lake, and Walter T. Kelley. I haven't had any bad frames (except for the occasional warped piece), but Walter T. Kelley's frames are as good, if not better, than any of them. I've bought thousands of them. smile.gif

My latest batch of Dadant have been fine. Before that I bought from Brushy and they were fine too.

Best usually inplies some trade off between cost, quality and time. I have used Kelley product for nearly 40 years, with few complaints. Recently it has come to my attention that some of their frame ends have some thickness/quality control problems. This is not a large problem since it typically represents 2-4 frame end in a box of 100 frames and even these are usable (they just look like someone took a pocket knife and whittled on the bottom of the end frame).

Kelly's what I used and liked; good service too, and best prices. What more would one want!

I can pickup from Dadant and save shipping. Just about makes them equal on cost.
