ok i will have ten hives this year, all new on foundation, now this i should not have too much honey this year,so an electric knife should work well this year. But next year I may have up to 50 hives and i need a different option for uncapping.Any options other than a new electric uncapper at 1500.00?
I have been watch this forums for sale section and looking locally for a used model but no luck.
just want to be prepared.

I have enjoyed using my uncapper now for over 20 years. It is an electric vibrating knife sold by Walter Kelley Co. My supers are mediums and the blade handels them well. At times up to 150 hives.

you just missed out on an uncapping machine on ebay. it went for like $300 I think. It wasn't a full-blown machine, but it looked like you were supposed to mount it on a wall and have a collecting tub underneath. Keep an eye on ebay. they have some pretty good stuff for sale over there!

It went for 247.50. Brand new there're only 325 from Walter Kelly's. I was bidding on it, but when it gets that high, might as well buy new, you know what your getting then.
