The dimentions are 10" x 24" for the piece with the lip and 8" x 24" for the flat piece....was wondering if this is an old board used before the centrifical force was used to extract the honey??? These are really old. The auctioner said he thought they were spagetti makers but the one side looks like it might have hade a hive attached or such and it does smell like honey.
The one piece has a lip that also has the slatts on the lip...and it has a cleat at each end that looks like it might have held a frame?

Maybe they uncap a frame, lay it on the board and wait for it to drain? Flip it over when one side is done?

I kind of thought that they stood the frame up....cut the wax off and let it drip off...with the wax staying on the top of the slats?

I don't know. It looks more like it is part of some wooden machine, or at least wooden components of a machine. You can see bits of those slats that are for fitting and such.

Whatever it's original purpose was, someone might have thought it would work as a drain board for cut-comb honey. Or the smell could just be that it was preserved with beeswax.

My guess is that this is a shelf from a glass photographic plate storage cabnet.
