Hobby wax melter?

Anyone have a Very simple idea for a wax melter for a hobbiest? I won't be making "real" solar melter. Last summer, some wax accidentally left in a bucket melted pretty well just in the sun. I wondered about just going that rout with some plastic wrap tight over the top. Or maybe a cake pan....

Yup, I like the crock pot method. Of course one could make up a solar wax melter too. There's more cold than warm in my neck of the woods so I lean towards the crock pot personally.
