Dennis,
I have a couple of containers of feral comb to extract and have been trying to figure out how. Thanks for posting your website link. I figured you (being the TopBarGuy) would have something to recommend. I am going for it tomorrow.

Here is the link for the rest of you: http://fire.prohosting.com/topbargu/harve.htm

Thanks

Very cool idea!

Good thing the beekeeping biz. isn't depending on me to come up with any ideas.

Hi Wayacoyote,

How did it work for you? Any ideas for improvements?

Regards
Dennis

I've been using some form or another of this method for years and think it's great. I didn't buy an extractor for the first 25 years I had bees and I wouldn't recommend it unless you get a bargin if you have less than five hives.

Dennis,
As much as I love the idea, I got side-tracked and haven't gotten around to it yet. The feral honey was too diluted. I am letting the bees rob the comb now (and an opposum too, I guess, by the looks of the pellets). I am sure the "honey" has already fermented. But I still love the simplicity of the idea.
