Hi
I am based in the UK, and intend to purchase a fogger from a UK retail together with FGMO although this is not an officialy recognised treatment method, but i am not sure if FGMO used by its own is safe for the bees or is as effective (my understanding is that a sugar solution should be added...but I may well be wrong!)

what do you think??
thanks in advance!

It is best to read the previous comments from this section of the forum. There is loads of info.

In a nutshell.................

Sugar is not to be added as it will carmalize at the nozzle from heat and clog the fogger quickly.

FGMO should be used with other methods like screened bottom boards, drone cell frames and their removal and freezing, small cell foundation. By itself I think things could get out of control.

Graze this forum for reams of info on FGMO. It has its praises and its doubters.

I had no problems with it being safe for the bees.

>or is as effective

As effective as what? Not as effective as say checkmite, but not as poisonous either.

>(my understanding is that a sugar solution should be added...but I may well be wrong!)

You are. The cords have honey in them as an attractant. The fogger would not last long with sugar in it.
