I think I pretty well have the thymol procedure figured out except for one question. My hives are 3 deeps and will be for the winter. Do I need only one tray for the top box?
should it be on the second box. Or do I need 3 trays per hive?
What is the bottom of the tray made of?
OK so that is more then one question.
I found a place to get tympol today and should get it tommorow.

I think I'd post this in Diseases and Pests. It's not really a FGMO question.
I don't use thymol. I think Axtman seems the most experienced at using the trays.

Hello folks.
FGMO/thymol and the use of trays.
I am surprised to see how soon people forget.
The use of trays for FGMO/thymol application is my invention. I have worked on this idea (patented) for three consecutive years and have published the results of my trials world-wide.
As for the trays.
1. Place the trays just above the brood chamber. If you have two brood boxes, it would be advisable to place a tray oabove each brood box.
2. I make my trays with thin alluminum (from alluminun siding) material) and wood. Procedure for making the trays has been published in ABJ.
Best regards and God bless.
