I have been fogging my hives weekly for about four weeks now. I usually don't count mites, but this time on the one hive I did. 24 hours after fogging I found 25 mites on the sticky board. I was wondering if that was alot of mites.

If it is alot I was wondering if should get some thymol and use it once or twice, I have never used thymol before.

Is it a booming hive? I'd say its not an awful lot for a booming hive, but it's a lot for a weak one.

I'd say it is a decent hive. It is is a deep and two mediums full of bees, with a few supers on.

I think I'm going to get some thymol for before winter. Where is the best place to get it? A smaller amount.

Hi, the little bit that I know is that if the hive is powerful that number is not alarming. One of mine has two deeps and three mediums and the count is about 40 to 50 in 24 hours. The other hive next to it has two deeps and one medium and they show about 3 to 6 in 24 hours. I fog once a week and will be satisfied with keeping control. I don't always put the sticky board (white Formica that slides in below the screen, coated with FGMO) in as I am concerned with temperatures and the high humidity. So far I feel we have control.
Take care and have fun........
