Gaming is a favorite of mine.

AMD Athlon 2.8, 2x512 Mushkin Matched dual channel DDR333, 512M Video card. Not fancy but nice and smooth at the highest settings in Battlefield Vietnam.

Actually I am hosting a LAN party to shoot the heck out of my buddies this weekend. Love that stuff. Shooting your friends is way beter than just the computer avatars.

i love frag fest parties sniping all those campers looking for easy kills.

i have a intel 3.2, gig of ram 256mn ati radeon 9800 which runs quake3, Rogue Spear, ghost recon, Age of Empires 2 and a bunch of other title real well. the test is max payne or mafia maxed out.

My son (Will), gets into battles with his friends in Half Life and Firearms too. They have a great time forming squads and having leagues. They also make a few enemies.

Took me a while to get away from Doom. I could not quit until I beat the game without cheating. I would get so involved the only thing that could make me quit is getting nauseated. Heart pounding, dizzy, faint, and sick to my stomach.

Now that's sick. Will got Doom 4, but I don't think I want to get involved again. I'd rather be making equipment.

scsasdsa do they have bunkers in the rainbow series? playing MP with Rouge Spear in the bunker maps is just awesome. pretty close to the best MP maps out in my opinion.

Rainbow is designed as an antiterrorist strike force and you play as part of the force planning and exicuting the attack and rescue of hostages, disarm bombs and in general kick butt. You need to plan well and set hold points for multiple teams,it is mostly sarategy and execution. I have not tried playing on line, but it is possible to do so.

I've been wanting to start playing PC games for some time. I have been having some difficulty... I finally got enough Ram to run Star Wars Battlefront... I finally got my game pad configured. Then suddenly, the target retical started slipping. I had to reconfigure the game pad, but then something happened that caused the game to develop a problem with my mouse... Checking the game website, it said I needed to install newer mouse driver. Ha!! It worked well enough before. And there Are no new mouse drivers for the Microsoft Optical Wheel mouse...

Now I've a game pad that I can't use, and am tired of trying PC games only to find SOME incompatablility issue pop up..

hey 39 a great place for parts at a very good price is newegg.com

coyote you need to upgrade that 486 system that you have smile.gif

regarding the rainbow series the sequel was Rouge Spear but now its back to rainbow and Rouge Spear is more military focused. but both are based on the same concept being it was the same guys who made each series (ie) planning, team work, objects to reach, no civilan causalties, weapons choices etc.

a funny Rouge Spear story in that i thought i had a defective video card when i first played Rouge Spear becasue it was 'hazy' on parts of the monitor. mostly when i was stacked up with a team ready to enter a doorwar. it wasnt haze but the team member behind me's breath do to the winter cold. now that was funny i almost feel off my seat.

stuart nothing touches the team based MP experience using Roger Wilco to audio chat live between your team members in Rainbow or RS.

ok ok now i am starting to sound like a geek smile.gif

a P4 ???

is the gamepad USB?
is the mouse USB?
if the mouse is not USB do you have the converter?

the gamepad people update drivers now and then but you wont find that for mice. mouse software is pretty much nailed down and doesnt misbehave.

regarding pc games 98% of the issues are with the video card driver unless the games are real old and designed for a 386-486 system then its a crap shoot.

your issue sounds more like a hardware conflict vs a driver.

dont you love how those tech support people throw something at you to get you off the phone.

i'd suggest http://www.pricewatch.com/ for parts.

wayacoyote: people still buy those things? (gamepads) as far as i know, they went out of usefulness years ago when someone discovered they didn't have one.

2000,xp+ = problems with old games
98se,me- = problems with new games

(generally)

you could use a wide array of emulation however to recreate the old'en days.

a fun site, for fun with something we all can enjoy, java: http://www.everyvideogame.com/

Yes,
My gamepad is USB. All was working so wonderfully and then suddenly quit. This week I've been thinking of reformating just to clean things up a bit. Now I'm using mouse and keyboard, and doing well, but I do at least want things to work as they are supposed to.

Hi all. I am looking for a new game. I have played delta force 1 & 2 and Rouge spear before. I am looking for a game along the same lines that you can play online. Any recomendations? Also what is a gamepad? Is it like a controller? Thanks to all.

Battlefield Vietnam. Love that game! Nothing like shooting your buddies in the face. Logitech Extreme Joystick makes the planes and choppers a cake walk.

yeah, GreenBee, a gamepad is a controller. Since i don't adapt too well to new controls, I want to use a gamepad so that when I'm playing with my friends on their game systems, I'll be using something I'm familiar with already.
