guinnea hen foot problems

we have five guinnea heans about 7 weeks old and ones feet are different the toes are culed always does anyone know what would cause this?

Did you incubate the eggs or did the hen hatch em?

Sometimes improper handling of the eggs during incubation causes deformaties.

I have heard that the have a tendency to pick at each others toes.

i got them after they were hatched all ready

If the chich was like that when you got it it was probabbly caused while the chick was in the egg. Improper heat, moisture, positioning, or improper turning of the eggs can cause deformaties.

TY i was worried that he/she had deformaties that we caused but they have been like that since we got it.

I've had chicken chicks the same way on occasion. Some pull through and get to being fairly normal. Some don't.

I believe that these small deformities are caused by breeding within the same blood lines too closely. If you get the white "meat" chickens these same problems are frequent. If all of its toes are bent it will have trouble walking and be unable to roost in trees and will need the protection of a coop. The healthly ones will roost in the trees at night for safety. good luck.

The curled toes can be from raising the chicks on a hard surface.
