I believe that's the way it should bee. It shows that there is nothing new on that topic for you to see. Smart programer that does this board. He is just trying to save you some time.

Clinton's right on! The lighted bulb indicates a new posting in that forum since you were last there. Once read, it goes out. This is explained at the bottom of the home page:
http://www.beesource.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro

Hot icons indicate topics with alot of activity. The icons are animated to show a folder on fire. This is explained at the bottom of each forum's index page:

No, what I have noticed is that once you read any ONE forum the lights go out on ALL of the other forums without even clicking on them.

Not that Dim

I did'nt explain it well.
when I 1st log on the lites is on.for example: the bee forum -beekeeping 101-& tailgate lites is on ,Then I read bee forum When I get done & go back the lites is out on the beekeeping 101 & tailgate also before I've read them.
It's not that big of a problem I can just look at the time & date ,but as Clint said it just save's time. Thank's >>>>MARK

No problem Mark, and it isn't a real big deal about the lites, but once you get used to something that is handy, well you just kinda miss it.

OK... now this is different. I sign in, notice that there only about four lights on, read one forum, post one reply, go back to the main board, and ALL the lights are on. Go figure.

Way Brighter with the lights on...
