View Full Version : Grafting to natural queen cups?

I saw an article once about grafting to some of the queen cups that can easily be found in the brood area (mine always appear to have at least 3 or 4 of these).
I was thinking this may be an easy way to exiperiment with raising a few queens for own use.
Any suggestion?

There is no reason why this will not work.
Reference to Bulletin 267 "Beekeeping in New Zealand" Produced by Ministry of Agriculture and fisheries New Zealand. Pages 70-71 descibes with pictures,a method developed after world war 2 by C.A.Greig South Island by attaching wax cell cups directly to the brood comb for small or large quantities of cells.
