ok all... today we made up the mating nucs. One hatched inside the nursery cell and I had a hard time getting her to a hair roller cage so she is no longer with us.
The other two went into the mating nucs. One was already slowly chewing her way out. I hope all is will with that one!
I also checked the cell builder hive and so far so good with my last graft!

Sounds exciting Chef. I will be trying this summer. Hope I can do as well as you have.

Chef,
Its fun isn't it. I will be making up my nucs on Sunday afternoon. I've got 13 capped cells. It's my first try at grafting. I started with 18 but two fell off the bar. I'll figure out why later. The other 3 didn't get drawn out for some reason. Good luck with your queens.
Sundance, it seems intimidating until you try it. It actually isn't that difficult. I have a nicot system but didn't use it. I wanted to try to graft first. You just need a steady hand. I got one of those camping headlamps and used it to see down into the cells. It worked well. Good luck this summer.
