I am interested in trying the graftless method of queen rearing on a small scale (for my own needs).

Is there a video available to "teach" me?? A booklet? Or are the instructions with the kits good enough to follow?

I need to either buy 15 to 20 queens in a month or so...... Or try raising them. Money is a major driving force for me.

Thanks

A search on Yahoo on "cell plug" "queen" "bees"

http://outdoorplace.org/beekeeping/queens.htm

Videos:

http://www.beeworks.com/usacatalog/subcat38.htm

The "Queen Rearing" one includes the "Nicot" one. The "Nitcot" one has the info on cell plug systems.

Book:

I think if you shop around you might find you can buy 20 queens cheaper than you can buy all the equipment to raise them.

If money and graftless is the issue then this one:

A search on "Hopkins" returns:

Yikes......... Thanks Michael.

My first run will be 15 and then the following split will require 30 more this year.

I am building toward 500 colonies.

You're a hero Michael. I have been trying to remember the name of the company that made the Cupularve. It's Nicot! Thanks.

If you want to do graftless on the cheap and low volume, try cell punching. http://www.dave-cushman.net/bee/cellpunch.html
Brushy Mountain also carries Practical Queen Rearing and that covers both systems.
