Hi. smile.gif
Have been thinking,I try not to make it a habit, :D I have been looking at our records.

We used several methods to re-queen this season, mostly with good results. The hives we had trouble with allways seemed to be a crancky hive when we started. These hives did not produce good results wether it was making thier own queens or accepting mated queens.

It did not happen every time, but when i look back it is enough to think about.

Is there a connection?

Thank you

Yes, there is a connection. In my experience, defensive hives are harder to requeen.

Hi smile.gif
Thanks for confirming my little thought.

Today we checked three hives down on the coast that an old mate gave us to look after. All three were mean and mad.

It is winter in a couple of weeks and we did not see a drone in any hive,so we are going to leave them till spring. This be something to to look forward to,three hot hives all together.

Thank you
