I started with raising queens last year, did not have any luck, but today I think I finally did some good. I see drones in the hives. Got my chinees grafting tool and cell cups/protectors from Mann Lake. Brought home a hive body split and 3 nucs. Put 30-40 cell cups into use today. It took some work! I would not want to do this for a living but had fun none the less. With a little luck, I will make some new hives next week with queen cells.

Hi Nursebee,
It seems overwhelming at first, but after a little practice, it can be done very fast and without much thinking. The process is more robust and not as touchy as most think.

Any feedback on this folks? I checked all the hives that had the queen cells placed in, nobody is laying yet. I grafted on the 4th...
Give them another 4 days.

I agree with Hook. I don't expect eggs for 28 days from when the egg was layed.
