I placed menthol on my hives in August. The bees disliked it. The menthol is almost gone now. Should I place more menthol on for the fall or should I make grease patties? If so what is the best way to make and feed grease patties? I would like to place them on top of the one super I plan to keep on for winter feed. Any help is appreciated.

If I were in NC I wouldn't use the grease patties because of the SHB. I don't treat for Tracheal mites. I think treating will simply ensure you will end up with bees that can't tolerate Tracheal mites.

Never treat with anything until you have reason to believe there is a problem.
