I had a hive that was getting real week, being a newbee I really didn't know what to do. I probably should have tried to requeen it, or at least combine it with another hive. Anyway it died out. I checked it about 2 1/2 weeks ago and saw no sign of wax moths, there were bees on the frames but I think they were from another colony.
Three days ago I decided to pull the hive and found it was completely infested with wax moths.
Of the ten frames in the deep, the 6 middle frames were pitiful, I picked a couple hundred larvae out of them, then put them in the freezer as I have read on here.
Two days later I pulled them, there was literally hundres of them that had stuck their heads out and had been frozen solid--fed them to the chickens.
I read on here somewhere, I could still use the frames as drawn comb, will the bees accept them, and clean them up?
My 4 other hives, next to this hive seem to be fairly strong, will they get infected as bad or will they fight off the moths?
Thanks for your help.

Yes, yes, and yes smile.gif

>My 4 other hives, next to this hive seem to be fairly strong, will they get infected . . .
Not if they are strong enough to keep the moths out. A weak hive, especially one w/ no bees smile.gif , and stored brood frames are most likely to be infested.
