i thought a 24hr is considered inaccurate and thats why a 3 day count is the standard?
just a thought smile.gif

You have check mite in the hives in June?
They don't look bad at all. There are mites emerging all the time. When you're treating a badly infested colony you'll see thousands of mites dying.
I would agree I would be more concerned with having cumophos in my hives in June than the low mite counts you indicate. Cumophos, the organophosphate in check-mite is serious business on or near a honey flow.

Greetings . . .
Last JULY, my PRE-treatment count was 108 per 24 hrs. I installed Apistan and killed more than 1,000 mites in first 24 hrs. After 43 days, more than 15,000 mites was removed.
With numbers listed above; 1) You do NOT have enough mites to treat, or 2) your Check-Mite is NOT working. Did you check for resistance BEFORE applying? How many strips are you using?

3, 4, 10, and 11 are OK...the rest are above treatment threshold for a 24 hr sticky board test going by IPM standards.

Most colonies can handle a mite load of 3% to 5%. You should have 30,000 to 50,000 bees in your colonies at this time of year, depending on how many brood boxes you are using. Percentage wise, your mite fall is almost nothing if the strips are working. I think you should do an ether roll to see if the strips are doing the job.

Yes, for natural drops. These are while treating with Checkmite.

Without knowing the mite count before treating with checkmite the count is useless.
Test another group of hives for natural fall and post results. Then we can advise.
