the last few years i've dusted my hives with teramycin in the spring and fall.

i've heard different oppinions about this. some say twice a year, some say once in the fall is enough, and some say using terramycin as a prentitive is not a good idea. i also don't know much about tylosin.

this is the first spring i haven't treated for foul brood (i was going to try the "once in the fall" approach), but i'm a bit nervous about it.

I haven't treated with Terramycin for 29 years now. I've never had any AFB. I'm not nervous about it anymore. ;)

i suppose i could not treat, but if the hives catch this and i have to burn all the gear... :(

should i just not worry about foul brood at all?

in five years (as far as i know) my bees have never had it, but i've always treated.

Everyone has to make their own choice. The experts are now advising you not treat because it only masks the symptoms and contributes to TM resistant foulbrood. I stopped way before the experts started saying that.

In 31 years my bees have never had it and for 29 of those I didn't treat.
