I am about to run out of bottom boards to convert to SBB and want to start making them on my own (new). ANy pointers?

Looking at BeeSource plans, lap joints are used. What shop tool do I need to buy in order to make good ones? My guess is some kind of a router on a table but I do not know. Would you suggest some other design?

Thank you.

A dado on a table saw will do laps and all other cuts you need/

I didn't use side rails with lap joints. The only tools I used were a table saw, drill/driver, and stapler.

I have used the same design with plywood and dimentional lumber.
