I have read the old post about the Oxamite strips, but nobody reported how effective they were. Anyone who has used them please let me know what you thought of them and if you are still using them.

I used the strips but they work during spring and summer when bees are active. The strips must be shredded from the bees so they come in contact with the ingredient. Colonies with strips in it had a lot less mites then the others but you must still vaporize the OA in fall to get rid of the rest. In fall bee’s propolis the strips.

Funny, I keep up on such things, and I know
of no approval to use them in the USofA.

What's the story?

I tried them in 2003, I don't plan to use them again. It is much easier to just vaporize, there is no need to split open the boxes to install and again to take them out. I can vaporize in much less time.

I think that the strips were made for those that had been conditioned to installing strips and would not use a vaporizer.

I use the strips next year in new colonies like splits or swarms during summer.
