What does the acid actual do to mites to kill them.How fast do they die using this.

Tried a experiment tonight with the lactic acid.Mixed minerial oil and latic acid together half and half.Put a new sticky board in one of my hives.Fogged one of my hives.Pulled sticky board when fogged cleared{aprox 5 min} 50 or more mites on sticky board also 6 dead bees.I plan on fogging again in 4 days. To check mite drop/ Before I was getting 10 mites aprox drop in 24 hour period.Any advice how I should proceed from here.Going to check sticky board again in morning.Michael the links didn,t tell what the latic acid does to the mites.Interested because this may tell me what will happen to bees.
