View Full Version : FGMO VS PAM
LEAD PIPE

I read up on FGMO in the forum (for some reason it wouldn't let me post a new topic there) My question is why canÂ’t a product like Pam be used? It seems to me that the bees would get a light coating of oil which would be just as harmful to the mites.
Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Thanks

I can not speak for the product itself because I am unfamiliar with the contents. I can however speak for the ability to deliver the contents to the bees. FGMO has the ablility in a liquid state to be fogged at a 15 micron level which does not harm the bee. I believe that using PAM or a simialr product would be devastating to the honey bee and the mite.
Uniform delivery as well as over coating would be two of my concerns.

To add to Kirt's reply.FGMO oil does not oxidize and one has to consider stability and the flash point of other oils.I have spent 3 years research into the various oils together liasing with Dr.Rodrigueze on a continuous basis over that time.He is on year 12,so will leave it at that as he may wish to reply to this posting.I can assure readers that he has explored all oil types.

This is what I think is the essential issues. Vegatable oils are not very stable and will go rancid. And the fogger sometimes will turn into a flame thrower anyway. It doesn't need help.
