Is everyone having as lousy of flow as I am? I have my bees west of Tulsa and there is not a bloom in site! It makes me want to give up beekeeping.

north Texas is in pretty much the same shape. The fall and winter drought eliminated much of the wild flower bloom and hurt the fruit trees.

Nectar flow is a mixed bag in the McAlester area. Within a mile of McAlester's city limit and along the South Canadian River bottom near Indianola, nectar flow has been excellent since Redbud bloom. However, in other areas in the McAlester vicinity, nectar flow has been delayed until the recent Blackberry bloom. At the present time, Vetch, Yellow Hop Clover, Milkweed, Yellow Sweet Clover, Ladino Clover, Spirea, Roughleaf Dogwood and others which I'm probably excluding because they are not visible to me, are blooming profusely contributing to the current major nectar flow in tha area. I can detect the odor of drying nectar in my hives at both McAlester and Indianola even though this area has experienced a severe drought along with other areas in Oklahoma. Only recently have we received major rainfall as two weeks ago my cattle pastures and hay meadows resembled dry conditions experienced in late July and August.
