I've been appointed to a Young Beekeeper of the Year program and I'm wondering if any of your clubs has one. If so, what are your requirements? Just trying to get some new ideas for our club. Also, I've read last year's compositions and some of it doesn't sound like a child's writing. How can we be sure the kids have written the composition and not the parents?

Congrats on your appointment. I don't think I can enter Dylan in the program yet though. Darn it. Haha. This is one of my favorite programs and I believe it is one of the most important.

Matt, teach Dylan to write, quick. Here is a chance to get him a head start on beekeeping.

Have the final canidates answer some oral questions. Maybe have them work a nice package hive and evaluate them further. Kudo's for your efforts. We need all the young beekeepers we can get. If I can help, let me know. I'm two county's east of you in Hendricks Co.

Thanks Todd. Are you planning on attending the Bee School in Indy next month? It's always lots of fun.

Planning on it, yes. I had better get my $ sent in. Thanks for reminding me.

Ask Dave Shenefield for ideas. He had the program a few years ago. I am sure he would be glad to help you.

On a side note here.... anyone planning on going to the beeschool in Indy should try to hook up and at least say hello.

I plan on being there....
