My question is, with the vents a openess around the swarm will they be able to make it thru the winter there?

If not should I try to move them to a regular hive for the winter?

The Owners said they can stay till spring, but I hate to see them freeze.

I don't have another hive to combine them with.

I live in the Southern Indiana Area.

the best thing to do is leave them there until next spring, they will be fine in the house but if you removed them this late they probably wouldn't make it in a hive with no time to build up for winter. they will be fine and you can remove them next year if mites or little stores causes them not to make it through the winter

The weather here can get down to -20 below. But normal is around 0 to -5. Can they survive that as long as they stay dry?

as long as the roof doesn't leak on them, they will not freeze,

They may or may not make it to spring, but their best bet is to leave them until spring.

LMN, remember the temp doesn't matter. Well not much. It's actually getting wet that kills the cluster.

Any way too feed them a little this fall/winter?
Good luck
