Drone brood

I went out to the hives yesterday, just to watch and I noticed that a well formed immature drone (with colored eyes) being dragged out of the hive. Is this just the bees purging themselves of drones, or is something else going on?

now is the time in Michigan that the bees are getting rid of the drones. This is a normal thing
