Here's a fantastic, automatic calculator
to figure sugar syrup batchs. It is in
Brix so remember Brix is % solids ie. 2:1
syrup (2 sugar to 1 water) is 66% Brix. At
least that's my understanding anyway... but
this has confused me more than once.

Hey, Bruce, that IS a nifty little calculator. You just enter ONE value, whether it be the amount of sugar, water, whatever, and the calculator does the rest. Thanks for the great link!

I just figured that for 2:1 I use half the amount of water than 1:1 so for your 2500 pounds of sugar approximatley 302 gallons for 1:1 and 150 for 2:1. It's a little more water than the calculator page comes up with but I don't think the bees care ;)
