Been building my own "bee tv" for the last week or two. Have it together and am awaiting some sc foundation from brushy mountain. I want to thank everyone for their hints on how to constuct a OH in this forum and as any bee keeper mine is modified. I even have a rotating 1 1/4 pvc entrance to pipe out the living room window.Bought double thick glass--heavy and expensive--for the sides and a 3 x 4 inch piece to cover the entrance of the pvc pipe. The four 6 5/8 frames slide back and forth too easily and had to make spacers--did not want to use nails or screws so designed a real doozy--after eating a "power snack" (popsicle) I had two sticks -awesome.
"These sticks are perfect" and since my glass is precisely 1 3/4" between panes I cut the sticks into lingths of 1 3/4 minus a hair to make spacers, rounded the cut end to match factory end and drilled a hole in center with the smallest size bit I had and thumb tacked to end of frame bar--voila. When sliding the glass in the rounded ends of the "spacers" just move aside to allow the glass to slide in place. The frames do not move when carried or leaned--success! Can't hardly wait till the bee tv is in operation.

Sounds like an awesome OH. Everyone says they've learned a lot from having OH. Good luck and happy beekeeping.

That's always been one of the things I've had to do is get the frames so they can't slide back and forth. Sounds like it worked well.
