Whats better, Top or bottom supering?

In a heavy flow I have not seen any difference. Early in the year it might be wise to bottom super. It's too much work and I don't see any difference during a flow.

what if i want to draw out foundation? will they draw it out if its on top?

thebee, I seem to have better luck getting bees to draw out foundation when it is right on top of the brood nest. If you're talking drawn comb, my observatons match Michael's. When there's a flow on, bees will fill 'er up top or bottom.

No, they draw it when they run out of free
open comb, which is far too late for a beekeeper
who wants new comb that will contain a decent
crop! smile.gif

As far as top versus bottom, I'll say it again.
Multiple controlled studies have shown no
difference at all in top versus bottom supering.
