saw an ad on here at beesource in mississippi was a bee grower selling golden red-heads...? what in the world is that bee? I have looked in all my books and cannot find it. help me out here and educate me!

I think they are referring to the Cordovan honeybee. they are a bright yellow most of the time and seem to have a red or golden to light brown tint to the upper part. Would you please post who the beeman is who is selling these beauty's in Mississippi.

Russell Apiaries(601-866-4300).in ms.has a type of bee,he call's red something?.I was over there 2 years ago,I'm sorry but I can't remember what.I do know that Mccary Apiaries(601-648-2747).has red cordovan,both of these are in mississippi. hope this help's. mark.

Good to see you on here, i was thinking spectret was talking about McCary but when talking to him he never mentioned being
Redheaded. Mark when do you get your Cordovans from Mc Cary mine are coming April 23th. I pray our weather here will warm up enough for them to start on a good footing. I never heard of Russells Apiaries does he also have the Cordovans we like?

Walt: yes Russell has cordovan's I can't say for sure but I think he got his stock from Mccary,also since i posted I remember(strange what age will do to you).that Mr Russell calls some of his bees Sunset's.It's a breed of his on??.as for when my bees are coming from Mccary,It's the 1st week of april.he'will call me because I'll go & pick them up,I ordered early. your bee buddy mark.
