I'm planning to requeen 07 Spring Swarms With Tracheal\Varroa Resistant Queens. B. Weaver Buckfast, Purvis Brothers Gold Line, Dixie Bee Supply Russian . I'm looking for a couple more sources for resistant queens, any suggestions? Also I probably need to get these queens ordered now for spring shipping and was wondering when I should tell them to send them. Should I requeen immediately after capture or wait a month or so?

No replies? Let me rephrase my question. Is there any queen breeders breeding for survivors like Purvis Brothers? Is there any queen breeders with excellent hygienic\vsh behavior? Olympic Wilderness Apiary, Strachan Apiaries? When is the best time to requeen a swarm?

The highest scientifically proven resistance to traceal mites (that I'm aware of) is purebred USDA russian lines. Stock less than 2 generations removed from the USDA lines should be quite resistant to tracheal mites. There used to be a couple of breeders in Louisianna that specialized in these bees. I don't know if the hurricanes shut them down or not. Olympic Wilderness included SMR/Russian crosses into their stock to improve the trach mite resistance.
