When will this incessant rain ever stop!!??? My goodness, it's rained every day, save one or two, every day for what seems like the past two months...jeez...

All I want to do is just check on the bees w/o rain pouring in the hives...sheesh

I wish there were some way we could divert that water over to me! Since May 3 we've had only 3/4" of rain where I live. Last night we had a storm & may have gotten another 1/4 to 1/2"! I spend two hours watering my veggies & flowers every night and despite my effort, their growth this year is stunted and the tomatoes, cukes, okra, etc. are not as tasty & juicy as they should be. Of course, my bees are having fun and are very busy foraging so something good's coming of it, but my garden's really hurtin.

Tia, obviously you have no rain dancers in your region.....

My friend did a rain dance early this spring and we've had regular rains ever since, so for those in the Kansas/ Mo area can be thankful.

Sincerely

We certainly have gotten rain!

We have gotten so much rain that half of my veggies are dead in spite of me re-planting! I hoped for a bumper crop of string beans, and what I got was TWO string beans and a bumper crop of turnips! Every turnip seed ever planted has come up!

On the GOOD side, the bees are happy. I haven't gotten much honey because my hives still have comb to build, but I WAS able to split my hives. That would not be wise in a drier year. Also, I HOPE the food pantry has been enjoying the turnips that I have been dropping off: I am a little afraid to ask! Most of us Yankees don't know what to do with a turnip, LOL!

Turnips are tasty. I roast mine on the grill and peel and eat with butter. Good in stews too. Mmmmmmm....

You guys are mocking me, aren't you?
We've received a grand total of 3.88" of rain since January 1. That's right, less than 4 inches of rain in six months. It's like a desert here.
Oh wait, it IS the desert.

we never get any summer rain over here, it all comes in late fall, winter, and early spring, our average rain fall is around 36" but for the last five years we have gotten between 20" and 24" and this year has been the dryest since I've lived here and almost all the necter plants bloomed early and are finishing up right now, so send your rain this way!

BAH!!

So much rain the farmers have reseeded because of field rot. ( Those that could get a tractor on the field and had money...)
This was Manitobas second coldest spring in recorded History.

However......

I hate to benifit on others misery, but because so much canola around here was reseeded, I'll have a solid 4 weeks of honeyflow from that. and dandilions were great this year. A silver lining I suppose.

Seem, we are pretty lucky! It gets dry and then just in time we get lots of rain. It's rained in the evening or at nite for the past week and then it is 90* and sunny during the day and Yes, I am in NC not FLA.

Well of course it rained yesterday too. Right when I was moving into my new house. Had to stop 3 times to let the rain pass...argh. Possibly the worst part is the fact that rushhour in Atlanta when it rains is basically a parking lot

I've started building my ark. It has rained hard every afternoon for at least 2 weeks or more. Always between 4:00 and 4:10 -- you can set your watch by it. Another inch or more this afternoon.

I was going to fog my new hives for the first time if I can ever get a dry afternoon to do it. Perhaps rainy days are better as most all the bees are in the hive -- but also more likely to be ill tempered. My 24 hour mite drop was 2, 1, and 0 for my 3 hives. Hopefully it won't get much worse than that.
