How long can you leave the supers on after they are filled? Should they be removed right away and stored or can you just keep bottom supering until you are ready to process?

You can bottom super until you are ready to harvest. It just depends on how many times you want to handle that full super in the course of the summer.

I try to leave them on until I'm ready to process.

Bottom supering is too much work.

at this location beebuzz, where we have significant spring humidity levels, it is most time a good idea to leave full supers on to cure (honey is losing moisture). I like to pull honey after we have had about two weeks of very dry (low air humidity) weather which usually begin here about the first of June.. just a bit south of here curing can pose a real problem since the air is almost always extremely humid. the tallow honey in and about houston, texas is famous for the tales it has generated by beekeepers who have failed to cure the honey before extaction.

Hey tecumseh, when does your flow taper off? I am north of fort worth and see the taper somewhere between june 1st and july 1.

last year being the exception when the flow tapered off in january and didn't crank back up until after december.
