How and why would one "bleach" bees wax?

How. I suppose some people use some kind of chemicals to do so. I never have, so I have no experience at it. I have left it in the sun and it gets quite white if it has enough exposed area (thin sheets).

Why. White beeswax is worth more money than dark beeswax.

Michael is right about the chemicals.
However, I found that you can just dye your darker beeswax for candles, or lip balm. Also , I use dark beesway for string wax blocks for bow hunters. They don't seem to mind. Cheaper to find a new use then to refine.
