A guy in Oregon got a tax write off on all his 2000 acres elevation ranges from 2,640 to 3,960 feet, Bad land like property the land is just not worth much at all distinctive topographic features are cliffs and rocky soils the property is not productive farmland with this topography and absence of irrigation. He said that grazing honeybees was a farm use of the land sufficient to qualify it for special assessment in an exclusive farm use zone. He can also write off equipment for making hunting trails, because hunting is about all the land can be used for other than bee farming.

In Texas the courts have already decided this land use. You can get an Ag exemption on the land the hives occupy and the land used for extracting and processing, but not "grazing" land for honey bees. You might find an individual tax appraisal district that let you get away with it, but most are pretty hard on getting the money.
