hi,
About a month ago I posted a letter stating that my first beehive attempt to own failed about a month later, because it had lots of moth worms in it and as a result the bees left the hive.
yesterday the next door neighbor was mowing his lawn in his front yard and noticed lots of bees coming out of a hole in the ground. He called me and I noticed lots of upset bees coming out from a hole about 2 inches in diameter. I looked inside and I could see the hole going straight down the ground about a foot long then turned. I could not see more. The location here is Australia, Melbourne, the weather is beginning of winter, the temparatures at night can be anything from 8 to 12 Celcius, at day time anything from 14 to 22 Celcius.
The question is: Should I attempt to catch them and how? I have never done this before. Or I should leave them to overwinter and try in spring? and how?
regards,
