Pierco Question

I have recently adopted a very strong hive froma friend. The brood chambers are made up of pireco frames. When I moved the hive onto my hive stand I found that the bottom board was reversed, that being that it was in the "winter" position. I was going to flip the bottom board to allow easier access for the bees, but my friend said that the pierco instructions said to keep the bottom board narrow.

Any thoughts on this? These are my first set of frames using the pierco product.

I'm impressed that someone actually still reverses bottom boards. Just flip it over, it makes no difference to the bees only the beekeeper. I've used 1000's of pierco foundations (wish I used wax) the bees don't need a reduced entrance. But feeding would be good.
