Hi, all,

I don't know if this is the proper place for this, someone let me know if it isn't.

I wanted to announce two upcomming beekeeper's meetings where Walt will be giving presentations on Nectar Management.

The first will be at the Backyard Beekeeper's meeting on Tuesday, January 30th, in Fairfield, CT. I don't have any further information on the location, feel free to chime in if you do.

The second will be somewhere in the Syracuse/Schenectady, NY area on Tuesday, February 13th. I don't know the exact location (just discovered that the two cities are about 120 mi apart), or the name of the organization.

I am in contact with Walt (he is already up there visiting relatives) and will pass the information on to you when available, if you are interested.

If there is anyone out there who has additional information on either of these meetings, please post it here. If you are the organizer for the Syracuse/Schenectady meeting, or know how to contact him, please PM me, we seem to have lost touch.

If there is a more appropriate place for this type announcement, please let me know.

Thanks,

RAlex

I have heard from the organizer for the New York meeting. Here is the information:

"Directions to the meeting on February 13 at 7:30 PM for Walt's talk on swarming.
Location is the Oneida Country Cornell Co-operative Extension Center in Oriskany, NY The building is located near Oneida County Airport on Judd Road.

From Hamilton take route 20 east to route 12B North to route 233 heading to Rome, take right onto route 69 head east to Airport Road Make a right turn onto Airport Road and head towards the airport. At the traffic light, turn left onto Judd Road and drive about 1.2 mile ,the building is on the right."

He also said that 'walk-ins' are welcome.

If anyone needs to contact the organizer directly, PM me and I will send you his email and/or phone number.

The directions are from Hamilton because that is where Walt will be staying with relatives around that time.

Hi Guys,

Be sure to set aside some time to talk with Walt as well.

Regards
Dennis
Who stayed up almost all night, twice, to talk with Walt. And doesn't regret a second of it.

Just thought I would let people know that Weston, CT is in the Southwestern area of the state. On Google Earth, it looks like it is within reach of beekeepers in Southeastern New York, New Jersey, and Eastern Pennsylvania. This and the other meeting would be a great opportunity for you Northern beekeepers to discuss his methods with him. There has been a fair amount of controversy about whether his methods will work in the North. He says they will.

Don't know why I thought the CT meeting was tonight. Guess I just wasn't paying attention to the date. Drove over there and of course there was no one there. Really sorry I missed it.

I would suspect the discussion in Oriskany was cancelled last nite. I am about 70 miles from there and the roads were not fit to travel.Oriskany is supposed to get 2-3 feet of snow from this storm. Sure hope Walt is not traveling in this weather ....Rick
