Has any one used perma comb? I'm thinking about trying it for brood chambers in bouble medium supers. Because of my handycap i have difficulty lifting hive boxes full of bees.

Yes, one of our members in our association is using an all permacomb hive in a styrofoam hivebody.
He says it is going very well.

Tom go to long hives... My back started giving me some difficulty, so I with to a 46" hive that takes lang frames. It is so much fun now that I don't have to lift hives... I am always checking hives... and the bees like it alot better too when you don't take the bees house apart.

I have one hive that is 100% permacomb in regular wooden boxes. I have 3 mediums for brood and at least 2 honey supers on right now. I find no problems other than the drone comb the bees build in the bee space, which is really not a problem. I use PC for honey supers and will eventually phase out all wax foundation honey supers in favor of PC.The biggest disadvantage I've found with PC is the weight. I'm still waiting for some Honey Supercell which is fully-drawn deep frames. I just like deeps for brood.

A search on PermaComb on these forums returns 206 results. 11 pages of just results.

Here are a couple of the longer ones:

I wax coat it and use a lot of it.

If you have difficulty lifting I'd recommmend a long hive. Or at least eight frame medium boxes.
