Given the size of the pollination industry in north america I am sure the benefit of bees to OSR crops (oil, seed, hybrid seed) isnt just a myth! But I have been unable to find any quantative data at all on this.

Can anyone here give me even a rough idea of the benefit (by any measure) of putting honeybees into OSR?

thanks,

Try this link and check out the section on rape seed. The benefits of pollinations from honey bees is probably the most valuable benefit having more bees provides.I feel just adding bees and pollintions to about anywhere adds a few hundred pounds of extra productions of,seed, mast, fruit, nuts, ect per an acre to that area.Since Ive started raising bees on my property Ive noticed a huge increase in small animals, birds, deer, fruit, nuts, berries, wild flowers, insects, almost every living thing benefits.

Me - They are absolutely delicious - especially tender when shot very young ;)
