Hello,

I just got this in today... The only reason I bought it is, it has on the shipping list on left...

http://www.myjavaserver.com/~steveciii/images/1790Beeswax.jpg

1 Barrel Beeswax....???

Now I have seen how big the barrels that were made and used for shipping in Williamsburg.....
My thought was that would be a lot of beeswax for 1790..... George Wash was Pres in this time....
No Removeable frame hives....????

anyway.... Just thought I would share this....

The removable frame hive was not invented until about 1853 so back then they crushed the comb to get the honey out and that would have generated a lot of beeswax. And remember, they used beeswax for candles and furniture polish and making molds for all kinds of things so I'm sure that they went through a lot of beeswax back then. Theresa.
