I went to bee yard today, and bees were flying in front of the only weak hive I have been worried about. First thought, was robbing going on, but the bees were flying in front of the hive, up, and down facing the hive, and sniffing under, and at the rear. I went into the hive to feed, and it was just full of bees. The captured hive, from a couple of weeks ago, I have been spreading small amounts of the bee comb that was just squeezed for the honey. I have been dolling small amount each day that temperature has been in the 60 degrees. The bees must think a flow is going on, and raising brood. I didn't check any frames, just the site of all the wonderful bees was enough. I did see uncapped nectar in some open cells. I have a water feeder for the bees, and deer close by, a few bees were taking on water. It is so nice to live in North East Texas. I got off the deer stand tonight, I didn't even have a gun, looked at the temperature on the interior truck mirror, it was 67-degrees. You just got to love it.

You poor deprived person. It's snowing here. You don't know what you're missing!

Glad to hear the good news about your hive.

George: Just got back from visiting our daughter in Las Vegas, Nevada. I got her to carry us up on Charleston Mtn. to see the snow skiing. I have always been told that you can buy a trip to see the snow, but it sure is nice to leave it, and head south to the warmer weather, and plenty of sunshine. I do love to whatch it snow, on your turf.

HAHAHA+HA- Thanks for the laugh George. Living in the Finger Lakes I know exactly what you mean!

Hawk, isn't it almost heaven, West virginia, not Colorado? although I spent several winters there and if there is anything more awe inspiring than South Park in Snow I don't know what it would be. I was dumbstruck!(which don't take much as you know)

A few years ago I made a visit to South Texas and I left with one thought in my mind.

Texas has GOT to be about six miles from hell in the summer time.

I'll take a month of snow over a day of Texas heat any time.

Hehe.. I've never been anywhere really hot.. Really hot here in Maine is anything above 80F up to about 99FF. 90's are common, but I've only seen it hit 102F a few times. That was hot. In the city only 20 miles from here it always seems hotter, with all the pavement and buildings, but out here in the country where I live with the fields, forest, and lake, it always seems to be 10 degrees cooler. 30 miles southeast of here on the coast, it's another 10 degrees cooler and can be downright chilly when the rest of the state is sweltering. When it gets hot here, the humidity is also typically up in the 90% range or better, and it's insufferable... the air's so thick you can chew it.

I did spend 2 weeks one August in Denver, I must say it was quite pleasant, high-80's or so every day and I never felt it was really all that hot.

I've heard people talk about the "dry heat" you get in the southwest being more tolerable. I can only imagine.

Well I think dry heat is hot too, I was in lost wages a couple of years ago in Sept and it was 102 and the mistake I made was walking down the street in day light and it didnt take me long to get out of Dodge.

George
I was raised along the Ohio river and heat and humididty are real bad there and it is here when it is in the 90s.

I am looking forward to being in Denver the first week of June 2006 and checking out the weather and mabee a vesit with Hawk!

"Texas has GOT to be about six miles from hell in the summer time." Or as the old black man that lived by my Father in law used to say "its so hot hell kant bee moen 1/2 mile from here"
