With all tha bee stuff I got a while back there is some double courgated cardboard boxes. They fold flat but when open they have 4 solid sides, no bottom and flaps that close from 4 sides to form a top. There is a 2 inch hole cut out of the front. They are black and waxed.
They just fit ver 2 deep hive boxes.
The question; If I close the flaps over the top there will be no ventilation. The telescoping cover does not fit over these boxes as double carcboard is quit thick. What do I do about this?
Any other advice on using these carboard hive covers?

I've never used them. I think the idea is that the ventilation will find it's way into and through the cardboard.

If you fold one flap in, then you get the ventillation you need. Fold the other three flaps over the top, set the telescoping cover on top, it shouldn't fit tight, and hold it down with a rock. I use the tarpaper method, and put styrofoam underneath it. Those black boxes are expensive, 7-8 bucks apiece.
