Last weekend I had a super with seven frames of drawn comb and good brood pattern. Today the only thing I did was top up the pail feeders but noticed that workers were dragging drones out to the edge of the bottom board. What could this mean this early in the season (my bees were installed as a new package at the end of May and it's been pretty rainy here for the last month, if that makes any difference). Also I added a new super and opened the entrance reducer to the larger slot on Sunday.
Thanks,
Terry

I would think nothing to worry about. Sounds like you have a nice brood pattern and thats the one goal.
Drones come and they go. The girls will all decide who and how many boys can stay. Sometimes during a spell of Non-foraging weather they will thin a few drones.
Also, someone on another thread had drones being evicted. Don't worry. Too many drones is time for concern.

Terry,
Not that I know what I'm talking about as this is my first year with bees, but why are you still feeding them? Judging from your location stated on another thread we sound like neighbors and there seems to be enough forage about, when it isn't raining.
I don't want to hijack this thread, but I wonder if that guess is off base?
