overwintering

Hi I have one hive of bees and dou to a bunch of problems in the spring the hive is really weak . They have about 1/2 of one hive body full of honey and thats it. I tried giving them some sugar water last week and they guzzled it down . Should I keep giving them sugar water until it gets to cold and just hope for them to make it through the winter?

I would give 2:1 syrup for as long as they will take it.
