This is a split from 4-17.the rain has slowed down and they are finaly building up.I added a 2nd deep foundation 3+ weeks ago.the past 10 days the population has. exploded. The bees have been all over the frames for a week but they are not drawing the foundation.I do not see anything wrong in the hive.the bees have heen hanging on the dfront of the hive,so i proped the top cover alot more. I still have some things like white dutch and white sweetclover blooming.Any idas am i missing something.I have never seen that many bees and not have them draw out foundation.
Thanks Bob

If they needed it they would draw it.

I am having the same problem. It has been cool and rainy these last few weeks and they just don't seem to react to the foundation like they have in years past. If we get some hot weather I think it will all change. It's like the honey supers. Two weeks ago I took off 16 supers and they haven't filled another since. It's like they all went on strike or something. Every year seems bring something new to my eyes.
Give them time.

Have you tried baiting them up. That has helped me in the past.
