I am considering a move to the mountains of NC, where there is a considerable quantity of rhododendron. Of course, I'll eithertake my bees or get new ones. What's the deal on rhododendron honey and mad honey? Is all rhododendron honey toxic or just certain varieties in certain areas?

Generally speaking, there is other "stuff" for the bees to forage on during Rhodendrom or "Mountain Laurel" bloom. I have never heard it being a problem.

Rhododendron honey can be a problem, but rarely; there are hillsides covered in the stuff here in the UK, but there have only been a couple of cases of poisoning that I've heard of. The bees probably won't forage on it if there's an alternative.
